The City bus service will extend to Cuttack as an affidavit filed in the high court by the city bus service operator Dream Team Sahara committing to start the service on May 15, 2011. On April 16, high court had set May 1 as the deadline for the government to extend the service to Cuttack. The failure to comply with the order would be viewed as contempt of court and appropriate action would be initiated as ordered by the judges. To take the responsibility of operating the city bus service, Bhbaneswar – Puri Transport Services Limited (BPTSL), a state PSU, had signed a MoU with Dream Team Sahara. The responsibility of operating City bus service with 100 buses had entrusted on private operator as per the MoU. Dream Team Sahara’s Chief executive officer said “After a thorough discussion with BPTSL a decision has been taken at our level to start the bus service in Cuttack on May 15, 2011.”
In the first phase 10 buses have been allotted to the operators for plying to the Cuttack. The affidavit filed in the court affirms to start bus service in Cuttack on May 15, 2011, positively. There was need for law and order arrangements, appointment of drivers, identification and finalisation of bus stoppages along the routes and finalization of route survey, finalization of MV tax and route permit for running the buses as stated by bus service operator. The city buses will run to Cuttack and back to Bhubaneswar as per the direction of the high court.
