Bhubaneswar: In a preventive measure to avoid any untoward incident by Maoists, the Orissa Government is contemplating to seal the borders of Naxal hit districts. Meanwhile the State Government has sealed the Phulbani district border and sent Cobra Battalion to Brahamnigaona of this district, where the security personnel seized explosives and thereby managed to avoid a big mishap on last Tuesday.

Talking to media persons here, State Home Secretary Mr. Madhu Sudan Padhee said that the situation in Kandhamal and other Mao dominated districts is very tensed and a matter of concern for us. “We will seal the borders of the Mao dominated districts, if such activities escalates,” informed Mr. Padhee.

As said by Mr. Padhee, districts like Rayagada, Gajapati, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabrangpur are witnessing increasing Maoist activities these days.

In another setback to the administration, in Koraput district Maoists are in full swing to form ‘Praja Sasan’ in undivided Koraput. Sources said that the activists of ‘Chasi Mulia Sangha’ with the support of Maoists are trying to create menace in Narayanpatana and Bandhunga area.

As the Government and the police administration is not taking firm steps against them their activities are now increasing alarmingly. Meanwhile ‘Koraputia Jana Surakshaya Sangha’ claiming to be a pro adivasi organisation, demanded autonomous status to undivided Koraput.
