New Delhi: In order to bring strong Lokpal bill, Veteran Gandhian Anna Hazare on Tuesday has threatened to sit on a hunger strike from December 21 (the last day of the winter session of Parliament), if the Centre does not bring a strong Jan Lokpal legislation.

Hazare also announced that he and his team will make tours to the five states, going to polls in 2012 and would ask people to vote for “honest and deserving candidates”.

In a letter, referred to the PM, 74 year old Hazare said that, due to some irresponsible Congress leaders and their activities there is a strong question mark on the bringing of the Jan Lokpal Bill.

Government on the other hand has strongly criticized this activity of Anna. Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni, said,” The Government has agreed to pass the Jan Lokpal Bill during the winter session of Parliament. The standing committee is working on it. So it is unfortunate on the part of Anna to threaten the Government again and again without any reason”.

It is noteworthy to mention that Anna has been continuing his “maun vrat” (vow of silence) since October 16 in Ralegan Siddhi in Maharashtra, his birth place.
