Puri: An Expert Team of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) from Delhi will visit Jagannath temple today and will discuss with the Superintendent of the Odisha circle of Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Ashok Kumar Patel on the circumstances that led to the fall of the slab on the western side of the historic temple.
A detailed report will be sent to Mr. Gautam Sengupta, Director General, ASI. On the basis of that necessary steps will be taken to repair the temple as soon as possible.
The ASI, on Wednesday had sent some engineers to the temple to examine repairing work of the place, from where the huge block had fell creating panicky amongst the devotees.
It is noteworthy to mention that, CM had drawn the attention of Union Culture Minister Kumari Sailaja and had requested her to initiate action against the officials of the Archaeologial Survey of India (ASI) whose carelessness led to this incident.
