Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, while apprising Union Panchayatiraj and Tribal Welfare Minister V. Kishore Chandra Deo in the State Secretariat here on Monday, said that his Government would complete the process of land distribution to tribals by December, 2011.
The Government is also keen to provide all kind of supports to them for their betterment, informed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
As said by Mr. Patnaik, “The State Government has already distributed around 3 lakh forest land pattas to the poor tribals”.
The Chief Minister also informed the Union Minister about the plight the tribals are facing in getting study loans and also to ensure to open more ashram schools in tribal dominated areas. The Chief Minister also requested the later to allot more funds in the next five year plan to open new B.Ed and CT schools and also Nursing and ANM training centres.
The Chief Minister also stressed on allocation of more Central funds to construct Panchayat office buildings and also emphasized to appoint more employees in the panchaytiraj institutions to ensure speedy, fair and transparent development.
Secretary of Panchayatiraj, Forest and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Welfare Departments were present during the discussion.
