Sambalpur: The district police on Wednesday arrested three Maoists and seized over two kilograms of gun powder from them in Jujumura area, nearly 30 km from here.

According to the district superintendent of police Nikhil Kumar Kanodia, the Maoists were held during a routine combing operation in Jujumura forests. The arrested Maoists were identified as Kusa Bhoi, Rohit Sura and Satya Narayan Bhoi.

“While Rohit Sura and Satya Narayan Bhoi had been to jail for three years in several cases, Kusa Bhoi had three cases pending against him,” said Mr Kannodia.

Kusa was also involved in the attack on ARSS Infrastructure Limited in Sambalpur on October 25. The rebels had then set at least 27 trucks on fire.
