Bhubaneswar: The Gala celebration of Suravi-2011 concludes with the screening of the short film made by the participants of Film Making Workshop.

The concluding evening of SURAVI-2011, the 3-day event at Unit-IX Boys’ High School fascinated more than 5 thousand audiences. The screening of the 15-min short film, made by 26 children under the supervisions of two National Award Winning Film Director & Producer, namely Mr. Subas Das & Mrs. Padmini Puty, was the crowning glory of the grand finale.

The workshop started on 8 Nov, inaugurated by Smt. Aparajita Sarangi, Commissioner cum Secy., School & Mass Education Departmentt .

The Film Making Workshop designed & co-ordinated by Gadadhar Puty had the most compatible resource persons who guided the school children to produce the short film on the activities of SURAVI-2011 organised by the School &Mass Education Department of the Govt.

The school children, 16 boys and 10 girls, learnt the craft of movie making with all enthusiasm and had promises in their eyes to keep the creative flame to burn in future.

Aparajita Sarangi, Commissioner cum Secy., School & Mass Education Department of the Government expressed that state will take care to bring out the hidden talents of the children in this new area of film making profession.

“On their query, I agreed to provide them support for their right kind of growth as a film maker”, said Gadadhar Puty.

National Award winning feature films, Aw Aakare Aa directed by Subas Das and Pooja Paeen Phulatie by Gadadhar Puty were screened during the Workshop.

The participants visited Ekamra Haat, Udaygiri and SAI International School during this period, & did their shooting practicals there.

Noted Actress of Oriya cinema, Archita spent almost 2 hours with the children on the eve of Children’s day. Prakruti Misra, Anubha Sourya, Akankhya Kabi, Ayan Mishra & Director Susant Mani were also present to share their experiences in the field of cinema.

Cinematographer Jugal Debata, Director Subas Das & Producer Padmini Putyacted were the main resource persons while Dinabandhu Kar, Producer of SIET was closely associated with them.
