Bhubaneswar: In a high level meeting held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. Bijay Kumar Patnaik at the State Secretariat Conference Hall, World Trade Center Association has proposed to establish World Trade Center (WTC) at Bhubaneswar.
Jayant Ghate, Advisor, WTC along with his colleagues made the presentation and proposed to submit a detailed project report within two to three months, official sources said.
Discussions in the meeting reveal that WTC aims at effective combination between infrastructure and services to promote and develop International trade in Odisha.
Today WTC has 323 centers in 95 countries of the world. It has nearly one million business associates who contribute to more than one third of the world trade. The World Trade Center Association formed in 1968 has been constantly boosting up international trade in different countries. Presently such center is operating in Mumbai since 1970 as a non-profit making organization promoted by Government and private sector initiatives.
WTC provides services in the field of trade information, trade education, trade research, exhibition facilities, meeting and conventions, shopping arcades, temporary residential facilities, import & export activities sources said.
Among others, Priyabrata Patnaik CMD, IDCO, T.Ramchandru Principal Secretary of Industries were present in the meeting.
