Bhubaneswar: In a high level meeting under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik at Naveen Niwas on Wednesday, it was decided to launch another initiative called ‘The Odisha State Treatement Fund’, a special fund for people living Below Poverty Line (BPL).

Under this scheme people from BPL families suffering from critical diseases like cancer, heart problems, kidney ailments and others, will be given financial assistance upto Rs 3 lakhs.

The scheme will be operational from next month, the sources said..

Besides this the Government has also decided to introduce a Management Information System (MIS), in all blood banks to enable people to get blood easily. Once the (MIS) is introduced, recent information on the availability of blood of different blood groups will also be easily available to people.

Further more it was decided that Global Monitoring System (GMS) will be introduced, to monitor the activities of 114 Mobile Health Units (MHU) working in remote areas.

CM also reviewed the implementation of Biju Gramin Swasthya Sibir and directed Health Department officials to monitor whether common people are getting the desired benefits.
