Bhubaneswar: The 50th Foundation Day of Indian Metals and Ferro Alloys Limited (IMFA) was celebrated on Saturday at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
Dr. Bansidhar Panda, Chairman of IMFA, in his welcome speech said, “Today is IMFA’s 50th Foundation Day which coincides with my 80th birthday. It’s not about my being born on this day but rather about my dreams and my journey. By being present here you have made this day very special for which I am thankful.”
Adding more Mr. Panda said, “In my life I have seen both success and failure. It is a long journey with twists and turns. Now I have a desire to see younger generation of Odisha getting into enterprenuership. A State like ours which is so rich in natural resources can surely achieve greater success. All we need to do is to work with the singleminded purpose of making Odisha an example for the rest of the world to follow.”
Odisha Chief Minister Mr. Naveen Patnaik regretted for not being able to attend the function due to injury in his foot. But in his message he congratulated the members of IMFA on this glorious ocassion and wished Mr. Panda a healthy and long life.
It is noteworthy to mention that IMFA, is one of the pioneering industrial ventures of our State set up fifty years back in 1962. Over the years, it has successfully diversified its product portfolio and the bulk of its products today consists of chrome alloys. It is now a leading producer of Ferro Alloys in our country. IMFA is also committed to promote the rich cultural heritage of Odisha and has ins tituted the Sarala Award to recognize outstanding literary work in Odia literatture.
Amongst others the ceremony was attended by Excellency Shri Murlidhar Chandrakant Bhandare, Hon’ble Governor of Odisha, Shri Pradip Amat, Honourable Speaker, Mr. Subhrakant Panda, MD, IMFA, Mr. Bansidhar Panda, Founder-Chairman, IMFA.
