Bhubaneswar: Opposition eyes on Government at several issues to be discussed in the House during the Winter Session beginning here on Friday.
During the 19-day Winter session of the Assembly, the issues like Government land scam, the misutilisation of Discretionary Quota in the allotment of houses and plots, the law and order situation, increase in Maoist activities, the energy crisis, the Kujanga cracker explosion incident, property statement of Ministers, the mining scam and many more adding non-delivery of flood and drought assistance to the affected farmers were to be discussed between the Government and the Opposition.
The session will continue till 31 December, 2011. The Finance minister of Odisha, Prafulla Chandra Ghadei will submit the budget report in the House on 12 Dec, 2011.
During the Session,the House will be remain closed on 10th, 11th, 19th and 25nd December, 2011. A tight security was made by the Commissionrate police including Odisha police force, Reserve Battalion force and special security force.
However, since the three-tier Panchayati Raj elections are ahead, all political parties, including the ruling party, will try to utilise the Assembly to score points over others to impress the voters to increase their poll prospects.
