Bhubaneswar: A formal veda recitation program of Puri, Rameshwaram, Badrinath and Dwarka- the four holy Dhamas (sacred shrines) of Hindu faith started on Monday at Puri Dham, infront of the lion’s gate podium.
Several vedic scholars from Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Chattisgarh, Kerela and West Bengal were present on this occasion.
The air echoed with the chants of sacred slokas as hundreds of vedic scholars recited slokas of all the four Vedas in chorus at the premise of the Sri Jagannath temple.
On this occasion, Mr. Harekrushna Satpathy, Vice-Chancellor of Tirupati Rashtriya Sanskuta Vishwavidyalay said that, “the program will be extended to Rameshwaram, Dwarka, and Badrinath. Programs like this will help create a serene atmosphere and strengthen the national integrity of the country.”
This mega Veda recitation programme was organized by Maharshi Sandipani Rastriya Vedavidya Pratisthan, Ujjain, in collaboration with Rastriya Sanskruta Vishwavidyalaya, Tirupati and the local Sri Jagannath temple administration.
