Bhubaneswar: An opening partnership of 108 runs between Subhrajit Sahoo and Paresh Patel and an unbeaten half century by the former, made it possible for Odisha to reply strongly against Railways in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match at the Karnail Singh Stadium, Delhi on Wednesday.

Earlier Wicket Keeper Mahesh Rawat’s 103 runs (205 balls, 12 fours), and a half-century by Ashish Yadav (68 off 120b, 9 fours) helped Railway to reach a healthy first innings total of 379 runs on the second day of the match.

However, Odisha seamers did a good job by taking the last four wickets of the Railways, for just 26 runs and limiting them under 400. Biplab Samantray emerged as the most successful bowler with three wickets for 62 runs, while Basant Mohanty and Alok Mangaraj got two wickets each.
