Bhubaneswar: Activists of Gana Sangathan on Friday have called for a bandh to protest police inaction in the Kujang cracker blast incident.
It is noteworthy to mention that the tragic fire cracker blast in a pick-up van at Kujang in Jagatsinghpur district had occurred on 16th November, where in at least eight persons were severely injured. Out of the eight, four have already died. Already a month has passed. But no one has been arrested till now.
The incident had occurred when a cracker-laden van caught fire on its way to a function organized by the Biju Workers’ Union, a trade union, at Paradip. Barabati-Cuttack MLA Debasish Samantray and Jagatsinghpur MLA Bishnu Das were among the prominent organizers of the event.
Demanding a judicial probe into the incident, the activists have threatened to block rail and road traffic at Kujang, Paradip and Balitutha.
