Bhubaneswar: The Delhi High Court dismissed the bail plea of ex-telecom secretary Siddharth Behura in connection to the 2G spectrum allocation case on Friday.

Behura and former telecom minister A Raja and his private secretary R.K. Chandolia. were arrested in February this year for their alleged roles in the 2G scam.

The ex-telecom secretary, Mr. Behura was charged by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) with criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery and corruption under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

It is noteworthy to mention that, Behura had approached High Court for bail along with Kanimozhi and four others, including Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK), Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar and Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd Directors Rajiv Aggarwal and Asif Balwa, challenging the trial court’s order denying them bail on 3rd November .

The High Court, while granting bail to Kanimozhi and four others, had reserved its judgement on Behura’s bail plea on CBI contention that his case was different from those of others, seeking bail from the High Court.

Raja is the only one in the 2G case yet to apply for bail since arrests were made and people were sent to detention in judicial custody at Tihar jail.
