Bhubaneswar: A two-day exhibition by Lekhasri Samantsinghar will commence on 18th December, 2011 at Lalit Kala Akademi. The exhibitiion will be inaugurated by Governor Shri M C Bhandare.
In the exhibition, 30 paintings will be on display based on the theme ‘Mountains, Memories and Momentary Madness’. The paintings will be focusing on social issues as well as the thoughts of the painter, sources said.
“Many artists are moving to Delhi for better prospects. We want to figure out why this is happening and hopefully get some answers too,” said Lekhasri.
“There is also an attempt to create awareness about women artists in the State by organising this exhibition,” said art critic Dinanath Pathy.
The perception that art is only limited to the intellectuals should change. Art is not something that needs to be understood but it needs to be looked at and appreciated, added Pathy.
Later on 22nd December, a seminar on ‘Creativity and Unconventionality’ will be held in the presence of eminent panelists like dancer and choreographer Ramli Ibrahim, litterateurs Sitakant Mohapatra and Debdas Chhotray and artist Adwait Gadnayak, sources said.
