Bhubaneswar: The Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) arrested a Superitendent of railways for seeking a bribe of Rs 5000 from a Locomotive driver on Friday.

Sources said, Hari Narayan Bebarta, the superitendent, was caught by the CBI accepting the bribe from an assistant locomotive driver Sukant Sahu in Malgodown area of Cuttack.

Earlier both of them were working in Paradip. Sahu, who had taken unauthorised leave from the Department, was facing problems regarding the Departmental proceedings. Since Bebrata was his senior, he had allegedly demanded the bribe to sort out his problems.

On Friday, when Bebrata was receiving the cash, the CBI arrested him.
