Bhubaneswar: Normal life was affected while services of several long distance trains were disrupted in Angul on Wednesday in response to a bandh called by the District Bar Association demanding setting up of a district judge court.

While vehicular movement was disrupted, East Coast Railway (ECoR) cancelled and short terminated several trains on the route. Shops and business establishments were closed.

Due to rail-roko by the protesters, train services in Cuttack-Sambalpur Railway section were disrupted. As a result, some had to be cancelled and short terminated, ECoR sources said.

The 12893 Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Inter City Express was short terminated at Dhenkanal and returned as 12894 Bolangir- Bhubaneswar Inter City Express from Dhenkanal to Bhubaneswar.

Services of 12893/12894 Bhubaneswar-Bolangir-Bhubaneswar Inter City Express was cancelled between Dhenkanal and Bolangir, they said. Similarly, 58131 Rourkela-Puri fast passenger was short terminated at Sambalpur and returned back as 58132 Puri-Rourkela fast passenger from Sambalpur to Rourkela. 58132 Puri-Rourkela fast passenger has been short terminated at Talcher and returned as 58131 Rourkela-Puri fast passenger from Talcher to Puri.

As said by Jitenrda Sahu, General Secretary, District Bar Association, further course of action will be taken if the Government continues to ignore their demand.
