Bhubaneswar: A special Handloom Expo named Khandua and Chandua kicked off on Wednesday at Neelachal Urban Haat, C.T Road, Puri.
Primary Weavers Co-operative Societies from all over the State as well as leading Handicraft units of the State are participating in this event enabling the customers to get Odisha’s Handwoven and Handicrafts under one roof.
Hon’ble Minister for Textiles & Handloom and Science & Technology, Odisha Smt Usha Devi inagurated the Expo in presence of Smt. Arti Ahuja, I.A.S, Commissioner-cum-Secretary to Govt. of Odisha, Textiles & Handloom Department, Shree Arvind Agrwal, I.A.S, Collector & District Magistrate, Puri, Shree B.C Mohapatra, I.A.S Director of Textiles & Handloom, Odisha & Shree N. Palai, I.A.S Director of Handicrafts & Cottage Industries, Odisha.
The Expo will continue from 21st December 2011 to 4 th January 2012, and will remain open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on all days.
A special rebate of 10% declared by the State Government is being given to the valued customers on purchase of every handloom product in this Special Expo.
