Bhubaneswar: The former vice-chancellor of Sri Jagannath Sanskrit University, Shri Harekrushna Satapathy, has been chosen for the prestigious Central Sahitya Akademi Award, to be conferred by Sahitya Akademi, on February 14. 

He has won the award for his Sanskrit epic ‘Bharatnatyam’.

Shri Satapathy is the Vice-Chancellor. Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha. Tirupati and has been a recipient of several awards like Odisha Sahitya Akademi Award, Delhi Sahitya Akademi Award, Delhi Sanskrit Akademi Award and Visvabaki Rabindranath Tagore Award.

Central Sahitya Akademi Award is one of highest honours in the field of literature, and is awarded annually to outstanding writers. The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh, a plaque and a shawl.
