Bhubaneswar: Odisha Environmentat Congress (OEC) 2011 was inaugurated by Shri Debi Prasad Mishra, Hon’ble Minister for Forest and Environment on Thursday, at Jaydev Bhawan, Bhubanesewar, with the basic theme of “Forest Resources of Odisha- Issues Challenges and Potential”.

On this occasion, five sessions consisting 25 technical papers was presented on topics like Forest Conservation and Management, Forest Protection, Floral Biodiversity, Forest Dependency and Resource Utilisation and Issues in Forestry.

The event was sponsored by Forest and Environment Department, Government of Odisha and was organised by Human Development Foundation (HDF), Bhubaneswar, Center for Environment and Development (CED), Thiruvanathapuram, and Regional Museum of Natural History (RMNH), Bhubaneswar.

Dr. P J Dillip Kumar, DG Forest, Government of India, Sri P N Padhi, IFS, Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (PCCF) Odisha, Sri Vunod Kumar, IFS, PCCF and PD, OFSDP were present on this occasion along with many researchers, scientists forest officials and civil society representatives.
