Bhubaneswar: Utkal University is going to have a high-end campus, with e-classrooms and high speed connectivity very soon.
The project will focus on providing very high speed connectivity, create e-content and e-classrooms. The high speed connectivity of one giga bytes per second (gbps) will be provided by BSNL.
The e-classrooms will enable professors to teach four classes simultaneously. Moreover it will also enable sharing knowledge and information at the inter-departmental level also.
Every Department will be encouraged to create e-content. The disability section of the Computer Science Department will be benefitted by this as the computer can read out the e-content to 10 visually impaired students pursuing Masters course from the University.
Moreover, the hostels in the campus will also be covered in this project.
A total of Rs 1.5 crores has been sanctioned under the National Mission on Education Through Information and Communication Technology of the HRD Ministry, for the project which is likely to be completed by March-2012, sources said.
