Bhubaneswar: In a high level meeting convened by Chief Secretary Mr. B K Patnaik, the State Government has asked Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) to compress the exam schedules to ensure that the semesters are completed on time and results are published without any delay.

The directives came in response to the resentment among students over delayed publication of results.

Earlier the University used to take more than a month to complete the examination for all the papers of a semester. But now the Semester Examinations scheduled to be held May-June next year will be compressed to a week.

Moreover it was decided that there will be a break of three weeks after the completion of each semester, during which the answer paper will be evaluated without causing any disruption to the regular classes.

The BPUT has been asked to prepare a list of 600 to 700 examiners to ensure that the results are published on time. Apart from this the University has been asked to employ an accounts officer at its Rourkela office in a full time basis to facilitate the arrear claims of the teachers.

The BPUT now has published the results of the examinations for B.Tech courses and also the semesters of current academic session. The University has been asked to publish examination schedule of the odd semester and also the semester exams. It was also decided that for the Academic session 2012-13, examinations for odd and even semesters shall be held in November 2012 and April 2013 respectively.

Mr. Patnaik also directed that the recruitment of teaching and non teaching staffs of the constituent colleges to be completed by 20th January, 2012.
