Bhubaneswar: Former MLA and CPI leader Narayan Reddy was arrested by Ersama police on Friday night in connection with the December 14 violence near the proposed Posco project site that left one dead and several injured.
Reddy, who was spearheading the anti-Posco movement in Dhinkia after the arrest of PPSS leader Abhay Sahu, was nabbed a day after a Bapi Sarkel’s arrest.
Police arrested Reddy along with his colleague Sarbeswar sahu, an anti-industry activist while they were allegedly trying to run away to his village in Ganjam district on a motorcycle through the village route, said IIC PK Badajena.
Later, Reddy was taken to Kujanga police station amid tight security. A murder case was slapped against him.
