Bhubaneswar: The State’s ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) celebrated its 14th Foundation Day on Monday.
The BJD was formed on December 26, 1997 for making the dream of legendary Biju Patnaik, father of present Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a reality, which aims on the development and welfare of Odisha, so as to make Odisha a corruption free society.
The function was held at the party’s headquarters. Party President and Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik addressed the workers and members at the party office.
On this ocassion, CM Naveen Patnaik, blamed the UPA Government at the Centre for neglecting the State constantly and said that the State unit of the Congress is shedding crocodile tears keeping its eye on the ensuing panchayat polls.
Senior BJD leader Pyari Mohan Mohapatra in his address held the Congress party responsible for the multi-crore mining irregularities. Pyari said that the BJD Government instead was taking several measures to stop illegal activities in the mining sector.
The function was attended by other senior party leaders like MLA Damodar Rout, Finance Minister Prafulla Ghadai, Shri Prasanna Patsani and others.
