Bhubaneswar: The Regional Institute of Education (RIE) is conducting a seven days training programme on development of working models on science for key resource persons from Bihar at secondary school level.
The programme was inaugurated by Sabita Prava Pattnaik, Principal of RIE.
As per sources, the key resources persons will be placed in various centres like Regional Science Centre, Regional Museum of Natural History and Pathani Samanta Planetarium, so that they will be able to carry orientation programme on the based theme.
The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is developing model syllabus that start from primary level to higher secondary stage, has been adopted by Central Board of Secondary Education and Boards of Secondary Education of other states, said Pattnaik.
“It is the responsibility of the teachers to link the textbooks of science with daily life experiences and pre-existing scientific knowledge by designing the demonstrations, working model and activities on various learning points to enable the students to know and understand about concepts and scientific phenomena with appropriate reasonings”, she said.
The programme will continue till 27th December 2011.
