Balasore: The Odisha High Court on Monday, asked Balasore Alloys Limited (BAL) to pay Rs 45 crores to Nesco or to face disconnection.
Justice L Mohapatra, has ordered to pay the amount by 31st December along with the current month’s bill.
By default the power supply to the compny will be stopped fron 1st January.
On December 16, Nesco had issued a notice asking BAL to pay Rs 165.51 crores within 15 days. Though Nesco was in the process of waiving nearly Rs 133 crore, it was forced to issue disconnection notice.
As said by Mr. Pradipta Mohanty, Counsel, Nesco, the next hearing is on 9 th January, which will decide the schedule for how BAL will pay the rest of the amount.
Earlier on receiving a disconnection notice fron Nesco, BAL had moved to the Odisha High Court. But BAL was asked to pay Rs 159.793 crores.
The High Court on 5th January, had asked BAL to approach the grievance redressal forum of Nesco. But the company approached the Nesco management for an amicable settlement.
ALthough a settlement was made and Nesco asked BAL to pay Rs 93.94 crore by 31 st March, but the latter did not adhere to it.
