Bhubaneswar: The sixth edition of the National Toshali Crafts Fair at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar concluded on Tuesday.
The 13 day annual rural fair organised at the State capital, which began from 15th December, served as a platform for artists, painters, weavers, sculptors and craftsmen to exhibit their talents in front of a large audience. Craftsmen from all over India showcased their best collections here.
The fair, billed as the most successful so far, as it registered business of about Rs 5 crores and drew more than 2.63 lakh visitors.
This year, the event witnessed as many as 200 master-crafts-persons of National repute from as many as 22 States of India.
Besides the traditional handicrafts, people witnessed traditional dance and music performance organized by the administration. Popular comedian Ehsaan Qureshi, Noted singer Anuradha Paudwal and Sudesh Bhonsle performed.
However the most remarkable achievement of the organisers was the high degree of sanitation. The entire area was neat and clean.
The event was hosted by Odisha Tourism and was supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Development Commissioners of Handicrafts and Handlooms and the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre.
