The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. Ambika Nanda, Team Leader United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Dr Nanda praised the media for being in the forefront for fighting for the rights of the weak and the marginalised.
Sarita Barpanda, Country Programme Advisor, also praised the Odia dailies for highlighting the needs and issues related to rights and dignity of the PLHIVs in Odisha. She also focused on the discrimination in health care settings that prevails in the State, which often prevents the marginalised people from availing and accessing the health care services.
Among others, Guru Charan Sahoo, Corporator, Ward no.43, team members of Lepra India and other key civil society organisations attended this program.
