Bhubaneswar: The State police said on Monday that they have got conclusive evidences about the persons who were involved in killing the then Umerkote MLA Jagabandhu Majhi in September last year.

At the Fourth Commemoration of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate of Police, where DGP Manmohan Praharaj was the Guest of Honour, said that the killers have been identified and there is credible evidence against the murderers.

It may be noted that the Crime Branch of Police which had investigating into the September 24, 2011 murder had released the sketch of a person after the killing, but no success has come its way after that.

“Even if some persons are identified, it is hard to conclude they are the only ones responsible for the murder. In an appropriate time the identity of the attackers will be made public,” said DGP.

Ever since the brutal murder of the political leader, the State police and the State Government have been stating that Maoists were behind the murder of the siting legislator.
