Bhubaneswar: While Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was busy addressing the Indian Science Congress (ISC) at KIIT campus here, his wife Gursharan Kaur chose to visit the house of Ratnamala Patnaik at Unit III, Kharavela Nagar on Tuesday.

Ratnamala (75), who is mother-in-law to Singh’s daughter and her family members were looking for the moment for arrival of her ‘Samdhan’ was fullfilled when Gursharan visited their house in the morning.

Talking to the mediapersons, Ratnamala said, “I am extremely happy to see my samdhan. We are blessed to have relatives like them.” While leaving the place Kaur said, “I cannot express my feelings in words. I’m feeling very glad.”

It may be noted that Ratnamala’s son Ashok Patnaik, an IPS officer, was married to Daman Singh in 1991 when Singh was Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and the couple have been staying in Delhi.
