Minister Akrur on his visit to Gopapura to invite Lord Krishna
Bargarh: The eighth day of the 11-day Dhanuyatra on Friday witnessed Akrur’s visit to Gopapur to invite Lord Krishna for Dhanuyatra at Mathura.

King Kansa after his repeated failure to kill Lord Krishna has now sent his Minister Akrur to invite Krishna for Dhanuyatra so that he can kill Lord Krishna.

Akrur being seated in a chariot pulled by horse leaves for Gopapur as per the direction of demon king Kansa.

Meanwhile king Kansa continued his Nagar Parikrama on an Elephant. He also held his durbar to listen to the grievances of his subjects and deliver justice and punishment to his subjects accordingly. He also witnessed cultural programmes like folk dance at the Rang Mahal.

Minister Akrur after reaching Gopapur came across the foot prints of Lord Krishna at the river bank of Yamuna and paid respect. After that Akrur invited Lord Balaram and Lord Krishna for Dhanuyatra.

As a shift in the scene occurs, Kansa is seen anxious about Lord Krishna’s visit to Mathura.
