Paradip: A district court on Sunday, rejected the bail plea of Subash Rout, the main accused of the Kujang cracker blast that had injured eight drummers and has resulted in the death of four persons in Jagatsinghpur and has sent him to judicial custody for 14 days.

The accused was brought to Kujang by a police team that produced him before the First Class Judicial Magistrate, Alpana Swain, who rejected his bail plea, sources said.

It is noteworthy to mention that Rout, who had been missing since the cracker explosion on 16th November was arrested by a team of district police from Puducherry on 4th January 2012.

The incident had taken place in Kujang market in Jagatsinghpur district during a procession of a trade union headed by Barabati-Cuttack BJD MLA Debasish Samantray. As many as eight drummers were seriously injured in this incident. Four persons have already died in the incident while another four persons are still strugglimng for their life in the SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack.
