Bhubaneswar: With the help of voluntary organisations like the Missing Foundation ‘Abhinab Odisha’, Missing Found.com and Dibya Jyoti Sevashram, a missing youth, Sanjeeb Mandal from Sultanganj area of Bihar was rescued from Bhubaneswar on December 23 last year.

According to Sanjeeb’s younger brother Dheeraj Kumar, Sanjeeb was not mentally sound and was missing from last November. Sanjeeb is the son of a homeopathic doctor Bishnudev Mandal of Moditola village under Sultanganj Police Station of Bhagalpur district in Bihar.

While distributing winter clothes to the needy near Cuttack Railway station, social activists found Sanjeeb. He showed his right hand to the social activists. A ring which he was wearing on the middle finger of his right hand had pierced into the muscles of that finger thereby causing some allergic reaction and the finger was stinking. He was immediately shifted to SCB Medical and Hospital in Cuttack. Thereafter the doctors, with the help of a gold smith were able to cut the ring and his finger was operated. He was then shifted to Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar. The activists took good care of Sanjeeb for 18 days and then contacted his family members by the help of Missing Foundation member Nityananda Sahu and handed him over to his family members on Monday.
