Cuttack: In a major breakthrough, the Government Railway Police (GRP), Cuttack has arrested four people who have been looting passengers by drugging them mostly in trains.

The accused have been identified as Dhana Sarada (30), Devendra Patra (40), Santosh Jena alias Sambhu (38) and Sasi Bhusan Panda alias Kujanga.

Gold ornaments worth over Rs one lakh which include three gold chains, two earrings, six bangles and one locket, 13 simcards and 18 mobile phones have been recovered from them.

Besides the four robbers, GRP officials, a person named Sashi Jena was also arrested for purchasing stolen articles from the gang.

“This is a major success as we have been tracking the movement of the gang for the last couple of months,” said GRP inspector-in-charge.
