Students of Utkal University protesting against the Pipili gang rape incident on Wednesday
Bhubaneswar: Utkal University students have closed the main entrance of the university on Wednesday protesting the gang-rape that are occuring in the State.

Around 400 students had gathered outside the University and closed the entrance gate. They demanded speedy justice for the victim and claimed that now no girls can feel safe in the city even in the day due to increasing violence and the culprits in the State. They also urged that the culprits should be booked immediately under law, said source.

It may be noted that a large number of police personnel were present on the spot in order to control the unwanted situation.

They also warned that if the authorities fail to take action, they will intensify their agitation and also said to sumbit a memorandum to the commissionerate of police, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the Law Minister.
