Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) here received a parcel from an unidentified person containing an explosive device along with a letter on Friday.
The police seized the parcel and took the letter for investigation. The explosive experts said that the explosive found in the envelope was a detonator.
State Election Commissioner Ajit Tripathy said the parcel contained a letter, written in red ink, which spoke about certain issues regarding to a hospital at Kamakhyanagar in Dhenkanal.
“The letter stated that the sender was unhappy with the hospital authorities for their way of treating people,” SEC sources said.
The SEC held telephonic talks with the Dhenkanal Collector about the incident, and asked him to look into.
