Bhubaneswar: In a bid to help students access research and study materials online, the Utkal University is planning to launch e-journals by the next academic year.

The University currently offers 22 M.Phil courses, like Analytical and Applied Economics, Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archaeology and Anthropology among others. Similarly it offers 27 Post-graduate courses like Biotechnology, Psychology, Culture etc.

At present, although the University’s website has a link with e-journals, searching certain topics leads to websites like JSTOR, the US based online ‘Journal Storage’ that archives academic journals for research scholars and students. However the material on these articles are not accessible, unless subscribed. So the proposed facility will benefit students pursuing courses under the University’s distance education wing.
