Bhubaneswar: In a bid to offer effective service to commuters and to make employees responsible in solving the commuters’ grievances, the East Coast Railway (EcoR), on Thursday launched the SMS-based complaint and greivance service as mandated by the Indian Railways.
Using this service rail commuters can now lodge their complaints through a Short Message Service (SMS) to cellphone number 94375-53815.
All that one has to do is key in the 10-digit PNR Number or the 8-digit ticket number, followed by a comma and then the text of the complaint. The text of the complaint is limited to 160 characters.
On receiving a complaint, the passenger will be acknowledged with a unique registration number. Similarly the passenger will receives an intimation when the complaint has been rectified.
However the service is not toll-free yet. Moreover passengers have to use the unique digit contact number 139 for train and reservation related inquiries on all India basis
