Bhubaneswar: On the grounds of the mass culling of chickens in the State to prevent the spread of Avian Influenza, People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in collaboration with Orissa unit of People for Animals (PFA) organised an awareness program at Master Canteen Chhack, Near Congress Bhawan, Bhubaneswar on Friday.

The main aim of the program was to influence more and more people to become vegeterians, so as to prevent human death caused by eating animals who are raised in severely crowded conditions and act as a breeding ground for disease, including Bird Flu, Swine Flu, Avian Flu etc.

Members wearing black hooded caps and skeleton masks, were seen holding signs that read, “Chicken Meat and Avian Flu: Go Vegan” and other signs mentioning diseases spread by eating animals.
