Bhubaneswar: Vigilance Department on Thursday raided the house of Basudev Panigrahy, a Deputy General Manager (Finance) of Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance officers stumbled upon assets, both movable and immovable, worth over Rs 2 crore, owned by Panigrahy, sources said.
Panigrahy owns a four-storey building in Niladri Vihar area of the city. The cost of the house will be around Rs 1.94 crore and has a total of 41 rooms, a vigilance officer said. Apart from this Panigrahy has got a land of 7000 Sq. ft worth 40 lakhs, on lease to raise a poultry farm. But he has constructed a house and is staying there. Like wise he also has a book store named Hindustan Book Store worth Rs 10 lakh, sources said.
It is noteworthy to mention that Panigrahi had been working at Idco since 1981. He had joined IDCO as an Accountant and is currently working as a Deputy General Manager.
