Jagatsinghpur: Protesting State Government’s lack of concern over District session Judge Court and family Court in Jagatsinghpur headquarters, several lawyers associations here skipped participating in Court proceedings and judicial works that put to an grinding halt on Saturday.
The agitated lawyers pleaded supporting their clients and litigants sufferings, who are being forced to go Cuttack for filing appeal or fresh case in District Judge Court and family Court as because these Courts are unavailable in district headquarters since years. As the State Government has been approached several times for early opening of these courts but yielded lukewarm response till date.
Meantime, these courts have been opened in few small districts but Government higher ups have been ignoring Jagatsinghpur for setting of these courts, informed President of Jagatsinghpur Bar Association Raj Kishor Khatua.
Sangram Kishor Mohanty , President of Civil Court Bar Association said, “We deserve each and every infrastructures for starting of District Judge Court and family Court in Jagatsinghpur headquarters as number of cases relating to these courts have been increased manifolds past couple of years but no action has been taken with regard to starting of these courts here.” We resorted one day cease work on Saturday raising our protest, he maintained.
As per sources, following the lawyer’s agitation, judicial works and Court proceedings had affected the entire day, later the agitated lawyers had dispatched memorandums to Chief Justice of Odisha High Court, State’s Chief Minister, Law department and Finance department, seeking early action over their claim.
