Cuttack: Following the Odisha High Court’s order, the SCB Medical College and Hospital started treating the Pipili gang rape victim with music therapy on Friday.
As per the AIIMS doctors, music therapy acts as an alternative method for the victim who is in a semi-comatose state. An ipod has been placed to the bedside of the 19-year-old victim and devotional songs of Jagannath are being played.
“As the girl had a flair for music and was a singer of repute, some members of the medical committee have suggested trying the allied therapy. But no final decision on it has been taken yet,” said hospital Superintendent D N Moharana.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch (CB) police investigating into the alleged gang rape case on Friday produced Premananda Nayak after expiry of his two-day remand in the JMFC court, Pipili. While Prashant Pradhan, the main accused is still on a three-day remand with the CB. His remand period will expire on Saturday.
The fourth accused Sukanta Pradhan alias Abua who was arrested on Wednesday, was also produced in the court amid tight security. The JMFC court sent him to judicial custody for a fortnight.
