Bhubaneswar: The two units of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) resumed its work on Sunday after the Odisha’s State Pollution Control Board (SPCB) granted permission to operate them following anti-pollution measures and submission of a time bound action plan.
According to the RSP officials, SPCB had shut down their two units on January 16, 2012. After the company’s commitment towards fulfilling action plans on emission control in a proper time, SPCB authority permitted to operate them.
After closing the two units, the company under took several steps to modify its pollution control measures.
A delegation of RSP led by its CEO G S Prasad had assured the SPCB that concrete steps were being taken to rectify certain lacunae by putting in place the action plan.
