Bhubaneswar: With the Pipli gangrape case still rocking the State, before the ensuing three-tier panchayat polls, a 22-year-old girl from Balasore district on Saturday alleged of being gang-raped and moved the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) seeking arrest of the accused persons.

“Though I have lodged an FIR at Khaira Police Station in Balasore on November 3, 2011, police have not taken any action yet against the culprits,” the girl told reporters here after submitting a petition with the Chairman of SHRC.

As per her statement, on 25 September last year about 10 am, she was gang gaped by four persons when going to a nearby temple in a bicycle. Laxmidhar Nayak alias Lucky, Pradeep Jena alias Julu, Ramesh Sahu alias Banku and Pitamber Jena alias Kalia, allegedly forcibly took her to the jungle.

The girl said that she was raped by two persons (Laxmidhar and Pradeep) at a jungle near her village. Two others who were involved in kidnapping her from the village left the place, she said. They threatened to kill her if she informed anyone about the incident. The two accused allegedly took pictures of her which were later circulated through MMS via mobile phones.

DIG (Eastern Range), Sanjay Kumar, in a press brief said, “ Those involved in the Khaira case would not spared, neither the persons helping, sheltering and shielding wiil be spared. Stringent action would be taken against them while we announce a cash award between Rs 5,000 and Rs 25,000 for the informers basing on the authenticity of the information.

Adding more Kumar Said, “ We have formed two special squads and efforts are on to nab the culprits. Non-bailable warrant (NBW) have been obtained against them.”

Police has also decided to release the photographs of the accused today.
