Bhubaneswar: The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) S Sreenivasan has announced to distribute the electors’ photo identity cards (EPICs) among the new voters from January 25 on the occasion of the National Voter’s Day.

The day will be observed with an objective to increase the enrollment of voters by using the event to make universal adult franchise an achievable reality and thereby enhancing the quality of Indian democratic process, Sreenivasan said.

Around 10 lakh newly-registered voters in the age group of 18-25 will be given EPI cards through 31,617 polling stations at 27, 793 locations, he added.

Moreover, a mini-marathon will be flagged of from Kalinga Stadium to mark the occasion. The process of distributing cards will continue till January 29.
