Bhubaneswar: A two-day National Seminar-cum Workshop on ‘Energy Conservation’ began today at the Odisha State Centre of the Institution of Engineer’s India in its auditorium.
Shri S. P Nanda, Chairperson, Odisha Electricity Regulatory Commission inaugurated the seminar.
Speaking on this occasion, Shri Nanda, pointed out that the energy security and climate change have emerged as the key global challengers in the 21st century and have to be addressed through energy conservation.
Adding more Shri Nanda said, “energy conservation can be achieved with a two-fold strategy both by the management of supply side and demand side.”
Shri M Vjaywargiya, Executive Director, Indian Oil Corporation, spoke in detail about the use of energy efficient equipments.
Among others Shri B K Mishra, Member, OERC, Shri G. Mathivathanan, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Energy Depaertment, Govt. Of Odisha, Dr. R. K Biswal, Shri Hemanta Sharma, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, GRIDCO, Shri L K Bisoyi, former Chairman, Odisha Centre, FIE were present.
The seminar is organised in collaboration with KIIT University and Maharaja Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar.
