Jagatsinghpur: In a ridiculous incident, the power supply to the surrounding villages was disrupted for about six hours during CM visits to Singarpur six km away from here on Wednesday afternoon. When contacted, the local electric department quoted that 11 KV line was dismantled as the live electric line was overlapping the CM’s meeting venue. The power supply was restored at 5.30 PM.
The Chief Minister attended three meetings held in several parts of the district, which were well-attended by party workers, sympathizers, candidates of Zilla Parishads, and local party supporters.
Sources said tactfully chief minister did not utter single word electing Sarpanch, Samiti member and ward member on party line. Rather he urged people to choose right candidates for the right posts in Panchayat elections, as the Election Commission has restricted allowing party affiliation to those contesting Sarpanch, Samiti member and ward member posts in the ongoing elections.
The chief minister launched his campaign with public meeting at Singarpur ground six km away from here on Wednesday afternoon amid tight security and reiterated success stories of ruling BJD government in state to impress upon the people, he revealed that the good works his government has taken for the uplift of poor, downtrodden, women, students and youth besides developmental works for the rural areas are the more priority of his government, he maintained.
