Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister, Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday reiterated his demand to include four more districts under the Security-Related Expenditure scheme.

Stating that there has been a significant rise in Maoist activities across the Odisha-Chhattisgarh border, CM Mr. Naveen Patnaik, in a letter to Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram, had urged to include Nuapada, Kalahandi, Bolangir and Bargarh under the SRE scheme to strengthen the security infrastructure to check the activities of the Maoists in these areas.

It is noteworthy to mention that Mr. Patnaik had reiterated the request during Chidambaram’s visit to the State on November 9 last year, but the Central Government had not yet conceded to the demand.
