Dhamra: The first interschool kite flying competition was organised by the Dhamra Port at Muni ground, Karanjmal, 12 kms ahead of the port on Thursday. Around 60 students from 10 periphery high schools participated in this unique competition.
In this competition, Subarna Keshari Nayak,a Class IX student from Panchutikri Grampanchayat High School became the winner, followed by Akshay Majhi of S.S.Nigamananda High School of Sasikadeipur and Abhay Kumar Majhi of Jagula Grampanchayat High School in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively. The competition was organised on the occasion of 63rd Republic Day celebrations.
Drawing and painting competition for the students was also organised by the company on this occasion, in which Biplab Mallick of Chardia High School emerged as the winner while Darshan Ojha of Trust High School, Jasipur and Dyuta Kumar Mahanta of Dosinga High School came in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Hundreds of villagers, students and company officials were present on this occasion to encourage the participants.
